The 19th annual Feast of Fields event tranSports people out of the grocery store and into the fields where food is produced to create a unique, gourmet organic experience.
On Sept. 7 from 1 to 5pm, Everdale Organic Farm and Environmental Learning Centre will host an organic feast prepared by local and regional chefs, vintners, and brewers. Guests can extend their knowledge of organic food.
Famed chefs will share their delicacies along with their passion for organics with patrons.
Each year a donation is made to an ecological group or organization to promote sustainable, organic agriculture. This year’s recipient is the Farmer Chef intern program at Everdale. Recent Stratford Chef School graduate Mark Seiling has been selected to expand his food skills and gain practical organic farming and marketing knowledge. For more information on the farmer chef intern program, visit www.everdale.org.
Feast of Fields was created in 1989 by Organic Advocates, a non-profit association. Established by chefs Jamie Kennedy, Michael Stadtlander, and other like-minded professionals, Organic Advocates is a non-profit organization.
Tickets are $100, and available by calling 519-859-3609 or by visiting www.feastoffields.org. Guests who carpool with at least four people to the event will receive a $25 gift voucher.
