Children starting junior or senior Kindergarten in September are invited to take an introductory family school bus ride during the Upper Grand School Bus Operators’ Association annual JK-Kindergarten ride on Aug. 26.
The one-hour program is designed to introduce children who have never ridden on a school bus to the safety rules and procedures in a fun, family-oriented session. The ride includes a video presentation and a question and answer period followed by a bus ride for students and family members.
The rides will be held at nine schools across Wellington and Dufferin Counties on Aug. 26, beginning at 9am.
The program is free but registration is required and is open from Aug. 5 to August 22. See the attached list for phone numbers to reserve space at the most suitable location.
Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services (WDSTS) operates the system for students in five English public and Catholic, and French public, and Catholic school boards, including the Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic District School Board.
The service works with 12 bus operators in Wellington and Dufferin Counties that are members of the Upper Grand School Bus Operators’ Association to provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation to and from school for more than 20,000 students. The school board recommends that all junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students participate in the program. Choose the location and call the number between Aug. 5 and 22 to register:
