Wellington County, in partnership with Wellington Waterloo Community Futures is preparing a proposal to receive funding from a $30-million broadband initiative to bring high-speed internet to rural communities. The need for rural high-speed internet is great.
Rural business can benefit from it. Rural high-speed has potential to increase competitiveness of rural business.
The county is asking everyone who does not currently receive high-speed internet services and wishes to, to fill out an identification form at www.wellington.ca, www.wwcfdc.com or a local municipal website.
If unable to do it online, contact Jodi Dam at WWCFDC, 519-846-9839 extension 4. The more feedback received, the more effectively the county can create a proposal for funding. For more information, contact highspeed@wellington.ca, or call Kirk McElwain at 519-846-1916 or Dan Halk at 519-837-2600.
