Obituary

Margaret Sikkema passed away peacefully to her eternal home to be with her Lord on June 17th 2024 at the age of 91. Born on June 27, 1932 in the Netherlands she was beloved wife of the late Sid Sikkema (2000) for 47 years. Beloved daughter of the late Roelf and Grietje Bolt. Margaret will be lovingly missed by her children Marg and Henry Stevens, Janet and Jim Guerin, (2012), Ralph and Grace Sikkema, Peter and Angela Sikkema, Deb and Henry Damsma, Grace and Ys Boekestyn and Doug and Sandra Sikkema. She was a loving and inspirational Grandmother/Oma to Nathan (Sarah) Stevens, Marie (Justin) Versteeg, Melissa (Kyle) McDonald; Jolene (Randy) Kosloski, Lisa (Neal) Rowe, Marcia (Ryan) Lofthouse; Joel (Krista) Sikkema, Sarah (Paul) Ricketts, Christy Sikkema (Nick Nordstrom); Karen (Brian) Wynja, Rachel (Matthew) Hummel, Justin (Jennifer) Damsma; Gerritt (Julia) Boekestyn, Marietta Boekestyn, Adriana Boekestyn, Sydney (Kyle) Wideman; Brad (Lauren) Sikkema, Jocelyn (Chad) Reinders, Lauren (Jan) Wilting, and Kaitlin (Mark) Steen. She was a special and cherished Great Grandma/Oma to 44 great grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her sister Hermien (Willem) Geerviet and brothers Berend (Ina) Bolt, Jan Bolt and Fokko (Marijke) Bolt all of the Netherlands. Survived by brothers-in-law Bert and Harry and many nieces and nephews. Margaret is predeceased by her sisters Dieuwke (Piet) Hovius, Jannie (Gerrit) Kooy, brother Jacob (Lien) Bolt , (Anna Bolt), sisters-in-law Lena, Rhea, Grace and Theresa, and brothers-in-law Harry and Wolfe. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 6, 2024 at the Christian Reformed Church,88 Main Street East, Drayton, at 11.00am. The Service will be live streamed. In lieu of flowers donations to Community Christian School in Drayton will be appreciated.
