The Grand River Conservation Authority will be suspending its winter program at those parks offering ice fishing, skiing, skating, and snowshoeing in advance of the weather conditions that will be occurring over the next few days.
Ice conditions at Belwood Lake, Shade’s Mills, and Pinehurst Lake should be considered unsafe at the present time and activities will resume once these conditions improve. The Pinehurst Lake Ice Fishing Derby scheduled for Saturday February 19 has been cancelled. Those who have already registered for the event should contact the park at 519-442-4721 for further details. Skiing and showshoeing at Laurel Creek, Pinehurst Lake, and Shade’s Mills will reopen once trail conditions improve.
