FERGUS – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games is thrilled to announce Maria Doyle Kennedy and Charles Vandervaart will be the featured guests for the 2024 festival.
The two are known as Jocasta Cameron and William Ransom respectively on the hit TV series Outlander, which is based on the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon.
Vandervaart is an amazing local talent that the festival welcomed for the first time at the 2023 event.
Kennedy is an award-winning and critically acclaimed actor and musician who has worked extensively across film, television and theatre.
Both will be on the grounds Aug. 9 to 11.
“The Festival team has curated an amazing combination of rare and exclusive VIP experiences,” stated executive director Elizabeth Bender in a press release.
“Visitors will have the opportunity to attend autograph/photo sessions and free, engaging panel discussions.”
Bender said whisky tasting is back, along with some exciting new experiences.
“One rare event we are particularly excited to be presenting is a concert at the Fergus Grand Theatre featuring Maria Doyle Kennedy, who is an accomplished musician,” Bender added.
There will be multiple opportunities to meet both guests up close at the scheduled featured events, and they will also be participating in activities throughout the festival grounds all weekend.
The full schedule is available online at fergusscottishfestival.com, and tickets for the scheduled featured guest events with Maria Doyle Kennedy and Charles Vandervaart will go on sale June 5 at 10am.
