WELLINGTON NORTH – The West Luther Field Crops 4-H Club met May 21 at Grotenhuis Farm, reports club press reporter Allen Cole. Guest speaker Wayne DeBoer of General Seed taught members about alfalfa and grass varieties in a hay field. “We got to see the seeds of each,” Cole reports. “We then learned about different types of cover crops and what the purpose of each is.” Members judged different samples of haylage, based on moisture and forage sizing, at the meeting’s end.
