Wellington North council expects some municipal services to be reconstructed at the south end of Arthur Village in the near future.
The successful bid to do the work covers the construction of water and sewer municipal services in the area of Charles, Catherine, and Tucker Streets in Arthur.
Of the three bids, council accepted Drexler Construction Limited’s low price of $428,273. That price includes GST and a contingency allowance of $40,000.
In his report to council, Wellington North Works Superintendent Gary Williamson noted the township has allocated $535,000 in municipal infrastructure grants.
He said the bid is from a good company and the work had come in at a very good price .
Even the highest of the three bids was under the $535,000 budget amount.
Williamson noted that the work allows the extension of water main services to the two homes on Catherine Street County Road 109) beyond Charles Street.
“It’s pretty good News,” said Mayor Mike Broomhead.
