Councillors here have approved a zoning bylaw allowing the establishment of a youth transitional home in Ospringe.
The proposed home, which was the subject of much public interest, will be located on the Second Line (Wellington Road 125) and will house a maximum of four children, aged 14 or younger.
Town Planner Sally Stull said the applicant, Avalon Children’s Services, intends to use an existing single detached home on the property to house the children so they can attend the nearby school.
Stull explained that the bylaw states the transitional home is an “accessory” use which could be removed if the property sells and/or the home is no longer needed.
Council unanimously approved the zoning bylaw.
