Tammy Reiner is heading from the classroom into the council chamber.
The Harriston Senior Public School teacher was recently picked as the replacement for councillor Larry Agla, who passed on earlier this year.
Reiner had run for council in the 2006 municipal election.
During her campaign, Reiner noted that she and her husband, Mike, moved to Minto over a decade ago because of the community. Now her children are enjoying the same things that attracted them.
She believed issues decided that term will affect the hearts of the community. She also stated that Minto needs to encourage both industries, businesses and families to the area.
“I am committed to this community and its future.” On May 7, that commitment became official with a swearing in ceremony before council.
