Wellington North trails in Mount Forest may soon be heading a bit farther north – into Southgate Township.
Members of the trails committee recently met with Wellington North’s recreation committee about the possibility of extending walking trails into the neighbouring municipality.
Val Corley, of the trails committee, talked of joining the Mount Forest trail with a potential trail in Southgate.
Corley stated some possible trail extensions have been investigated, a preliminary route was mapped, and verbal landowner permission has been received.
The trail committee asked that a secondary committee be created to coordinate the trail system within the two townships.
Southgate’s representative on Wellington North’s recreation committee was asked to take the information to Southgate council for approval.
