On May 6 the Guelph Youth Jazz Ensemble will host a spring concert, marking the end of its third season.
This is an ensemble open to youth of the Guelph area that gives opportunity for increased study of jazz and improvised music.
Led by Brent Rowan, the group explores the musical styles of various artists such as John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Cannonball Adderley, and Maceo Parker.
The group will also perform some original music composed by one of the members, Nathan Dyck.
The concert starts at 7:30pm in the Recital Hall at the Guelph Youth Music Centre. Donations at the door will help support the Music Centre outreach programs.
