ABOYNE – The final Gallery Concert of the season will take place at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on April 21 at 2pm.
The concert will feature flute, piano and horn. The solo repertoire for flute begins in the baroque, and after a considerable gap in time, continues in the 20th century.
However, in both eras it was a very popular solo instrument, officials say, often because many notable aristocrats played the flute.
The concert will feature pieces from both eras, as well as some baroque horn. There will also be a salute to Earth Day, courtesy of Handel.
The concert begins at 2pm and admission is $10. There will also be post-concert refreshments and a chance to meet the musicians.
