GUELPH – The Ministry of Education has approved the Wellington Catholic District School Board and the Upper Grand District School Board’s elementary and secondary school year calendars for the 2024-25 school year.
The school year calendar information provides parents with a list of important dates including PA Days and holidays.
Each year, the UGDSB and WCDSB school year calendar is circulated as a draft to various stakeholder groups including parents, staff, partner associations, and the student transportation consortium.
Under the new approved calendar, the 2024-25 school year will begin on Wednesday Sept. 4, 2024.
Schools will be closed for winter break from Dec. 23, until Jan. 6.
March Break will take place from March 10 to March 14, 2025.
The last day of school for secondary students will fall on June 25, 2025 and June 26, 2025 for elementary students.
Both calendars have 194 days, which includes seven professional activity days.
In secondary schools, 10 instructional days have been scheduled for examinations.
The calendars meet the minimum requirements under Ontario Regulation 304 and abide by the elementary and secondary teachers’ collective agreements.
