OLG and the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce have announced that it is time to get it together, ’cause the beat goes on with the 2008 Awards of Excellence.
Themed Centre Wellington Working in Concert, this performance-inspired event will take place on April 24, and is expected to shake, rattle, and roll your soul.
The Awards of Excellence is a community event that recognizes individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses in Centre Wellington for their contributions, hard work, and accomplishments throughout the preceding year. Anyone in Centre Wellington can be nominated (although 2008 nominations are now closed); and everyone is welcome to dress up in their favourite concert attire – from Rockabilly to British Punk to Pavarotti – and attend the event.
“The Awards of Excellence committee is having a great time organizing this year’s program,” said co-chair man Michael Weinstein. “With outstanding sponsors, over 15 awards, the excitement of having nominees as well as previous winners in the program, and the live musicians that will be performing throughout the evening, Working in Concert promises to ‘go off’ like no other awards show before. After all, you can’t always get what you want – but you can get a CWCC award.”
Tickets can be purchased at the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce for $60 each.
The event takes place at the CW community Sportsplex. Cocktails are from 5:45 to 6:45pm, dinner: 6:45 to 8pm, and the awards program starts at 8pm.
