Councillors here plan to take part in a provincial energy savings challenge on Aug. 14.
Count Me In is a voluntary blackout day challenge that acknowledges the massive blackout of Aug. 14, 2003.
Council voted to take part in the event and passed a resolution stating, “Beyond saving energy on just one day, voluntary blackout day strives to raise awareness of the need to conserve electricity the entire year.”
Mayor David Anderson said the town’s environment and energy committee is dealing with a lot of those issues as well. More information can be found at countmeinontario.ca.
