At the library: Ask an archivist at your local library branch

A new calendar year often has us reflecting on our previous year. This January, reflect not just on your immediate past, but your family’s history.

Have you been doing genealogy for a while now, but are stumped on one tricky ancestor? Have you never even thought further back than your own grandparents and don’t know where to get started?

Join an Ask an Archivist program being held at several Wellington County Library branches. Trained staff from Wellington County Museum and Archives will be meeting one-on-one with patrons to help answer their questions.  All levels of expertise are welcome.

Our free genealogical resource, Ancestry Library Edition, is available for all Wellington County Library patrons to use in-branch.  Search census, birth, marriage, and death records, passenger lists, immigration records, military papers, maps, and more. They primarily cover Canada, the U.S. and the UK sources. Sign up for Ask an Archivist for in depth help or speak with your local library staff to get started.
