Puslinch Township has paid what is expected to be the last legal bill regarding the dismissal of two fire officials, bringing the total cost, including settlement, to almost $250,000.
On Aug. 19, council okayed the payment of a $44,335 bill for services rendered in May and June by Toronto legal firm Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti, regarding the December dismissal of former Fire Chief Dan Quinnell and his son, former Fire Prevention Officer Richard Quinnell.
That brings the township’s legal costs to $82,377.
Combined with the settlement announced on July 2, the municipality’s total cost for the legal battle is $248,137.
