Northbound traffic on Tower Street / Highway 6 in in Fergus was rerouted for at least part of the day on Feb. 18 as Centre Wellington’s water department responded to a watermain break between Wellington and Prince’s Streets in Fergus. The watermain break was discovered around 5:30am and the water was shut off at 6:30am.
The Highland Hills Condominiums adjacent to the old Fergus High School and four residences on Tower Street were without water as repairs got underway.
Traffic on Tower Street was closed temporarily but by 8pm, township managing director of infrastructure Colin Baker said work on the water line was completed with work to complete repairs and restore the road to get underway.
