Remembrance Day services across Wellington County

Erin Legion Branch 442 hosted the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Erin cenotaph on Nov. 11. Those who died in the First and Second World Wars were honoured and local dignitaries placed wreaths by the cenotaph. On Remembrance Day in Fergus, Shelley Altman, right, with friend Laurie Gracey, left, brought a photo of her late father-in-law Robert Altman, who served in the Second World War. He was in Squadron 429, and served as a mechanic until turning 43 years old. He came from Poland and served in the Canadian Army. Shelly said he will always remain in her prayers, and she lightes a candle for him each year on Nov. 11. Photo by Bill Longshaw
