GUELPH – After a rigorous evaluation by jurors from across Canada, Mary-Dawn Roberts was elected to the Society of Canadian Artists in June this year.
This longstanding and elite countrywide art society began more than 70 years ago.
After jurying, a small number of artists are invited and inducted into the society.
In addition, her artwork was chosen for the 55th International SCA Exhibition 2023 and as one of 51 pieces chosen for the Society’s autumn members’ only exhibition 2023.
For the last 20 years, acrylic paint has been Roberts’ medium of choice but not exclusively.
Through the pandemic and since, she has wrapped herself within the creation of a collection of new landscapes and garden scenes primarily in acrylics.
The Canadian landscape she so dearly loves – the power of the forests and the strength of the rugged Canadian shield – speak through the depth of the colours offered by acrylics.
Garden House Gallery in Guelph has been home to Roberts’ studio and permanent art collection for more than 30 years.
She is delighted to open the doors to her home and show the world her new work.
At the fall 2023 exhibition, she is pleased to offer original acrylics, watercolours, and three new giclee reproductions as well as art cards, mini prints and jewelry.
Roberts is holding her fall 2023 art exhibition, at Garden House Gallery, 1953 Victoria Rd. South in Guelph, from Nov. 11 to 19.
Hours are:
