CENTRE WELLINGTON – With infrastructure work complete and a price per acre approved by council, Centre Wellington is ready to receive Letters of Intent for lots in the Fergus Business Park.
The Township of Centre Wellington has approximately 45 acres of land for the new business park, located in the north-east area of Fergus off an extension to Dickson Drive that goes all the way to First Line.
With easy access to Highway 6, the new business park will provide shovel-ready employment lands.
The Township also has other municipal business park land available, at 101 Gregson Court and 970 Gartshore Street, Fergus, just north of the business park.
The land has been zoned and serviced, and the Township is now inviting interested parties to submit a Letter of Intent.
The Letter of Intent is the next step as businesses work towards acquiring a lot in the municipal business park.
The minimum purchase price has been confirmed by council as $450,000 per acre. Offers below this value will not be considered.
Prospects and interested parties are invited to submit a Letter of Intent by 12pm (noon) local time on Oct. 23.
All interested parties will be thoroughly evaluated using a comprehensive evaluation matrix.
The following factors are included within the evaluation matrix and are weighted equally:
– jobs created – total jobs and jobs per acre;
– capital investment of the project;
– sector – outline the business sector, for example, service, multi-use, manufacturing;
– alignment with priority sectors, outlined in Appendix B of the Letter of Intent;
– local or external investment. For example, investment from a business already located in the Township of Centre Wellington, County of Wellington, or outside of the County of Wellington; and
– strategic future potential of the company – detail around your business expansion and rationale for obtaining the land.
