CENTRE WELLINGTON– St. Joseph Catholic School in Fergus and St. Mary Catholic School in Elora held its annual Thanksgiving food drive Oct. 2 to 5 with all donations going to the Centre Wellington Food Bank. St. Joseph collected and delivered over 2,000 items, totalling four car loads. The past three years Mrs. Quigley and Ms. O’Drowsky organized the event along with a student council of grade 8 students.
St. Mary Catholic School in Elora also participated in a food drive and dropped off their donations on Oct. 6. “The St. Mary Elora annual food drive was a tremendous success thanks to the very generous donations of our school community,” said St. Mary Catholic School principal Justin Di Loreto.“We were able to collect a truckload of non perishable food items for the centre wellington food bank. A big thank you to Mr. Kirton, Mrs. Hodgkiss, Mrs. Webber and our Grade 8 class for organizing this important event.”
