CLIFFORD – Clifford Antique and Classic Truck Show organizers donated $5,000 to Mount Forest-based Cancer Patient Services. Rob Johnston, left, and Chris Hall, right, coordinators of the Clifford Truck Show, presented the cheque to Mareen Dineen, second from left, and Linda Schornagel of Cancer Patient Services. Organizers note the Clifford Truck Show was extremely successful in its 13th year and has grown to be one of the largest gathering of antique and classic big rigs in Canada.
Spectators and truck owners travel from across Canada and the U.S. to participate and attend, officials say. “Within the trucking community we have put Clifford on the map,” organizers state.
“Our Clifford show team always likes to give back to the local community and this year was no different when we picked Cancer Patient Services. This is a fantastic group that does so much for people in cancer treatment. They organize and help with fuel costs for the volunteer drivers that run cancer patients to treatment centres in Toronto, Hamilton, Guelph and London. They also help patients with rental costs for chair lifts and hospital beds in their homes. Mount Forest Cancer Patient Services is an incredible group that tries to provides things to make cancer fighters’ lives a little easier.”
