GUELPH – The annual “FHT to Move Activity Challenge,” presented by the Guelph Family Health Team, is back again and starts Sept. 15.
The three-week FHT to Move Activity Challenge is a way for participants to improve their mental and physical health.
It’s a friendly challenge that promotes wellness, a great team-building activity for any workplace, a fun way to stay connected with colleagues and friends, and there’s no cost to participate.
During the challenge, participants log their daily minutes of activity, which contribute to their team’s total score.
Participants can earn activity minutes in a variety of ways such as running, walking, stretching, meditation, weight lifting and more. Bonus points can be earned by participating in separate daily and weekly challenges.
It all kicks off with an in-person barbecue event at Riverside Park in Guelph on Sept. 15 from 12 to 2pm.
There will be Zumba, prizes, barbecue food, games and activities.
This year, organizers have arranged a donation drive to the North End Harvest Market. If attendees bring a non-perishable food or personal hygiene item for donation, they will receive bonus points.
The activity challenge starts Sept. 15 and runs until Oct. 6.
All participants are eligible for weekly prize draws. At the end of the three weeks, there will be prizes awarded to first-, second-, and third-place teams as well as a team spirit award.
