It is with heavy hearts his family announces his peaceful passing at the age of 67, on August 29, 2023, after battling cancer, heart and lung issues. Predeceased by his wife Marilyn (nee Carter) Aug/28/2020). Glenn will be sadly missed by his daughters, Tracy Clemens (Patrick) and Tanya Hauser (Mike). Adoring papa to Tyler, Caleb, AJ, Evan, Elliot, and Austin. He is survived by his siblings Donna Wheeler (Howard), Jim (Annemarie), Barbara Kesselring (Ken), Marlene Gutpell (Tom), David (Penny). Survived by in-laws Betty Carter, Laura Gould (Robert), Wayne (Bob) (Nancy) Carter and Raymond (Sue) Carter. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many good friends. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Donald (Dave)and Ruth Watson, and brother-in-law Lloyd Carter. Glenn was born the second youngest son, of Dave and Ruth, raised on a dairy farm on Clair Rd W; attended Brock Road, Aberfoyle public school and Centennial School making many lifelong friends. In younger years was an Aberfoyle baseball player and a good base runner (could run like a deer!) He became a loyal employee of Linamar in Guelph for 30 years. Glenn was always the life of the party and lived life large. Enjoyed a party and dancing (with Marilyn) and was good at it, liked playing darts and golf. Glenn took pleasure in his 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, which he lovingly restored. The red & white beauty was a popular addition to the Hespeler parade route, countless car shows, and acted as a special chariot for a few special weddings. Glenn was a big Montreal Habs fan. What is to be done with the Habs seat? He was also a big follower of the Toronto Blue Jays and Nascar. He enjoyed socializing at his trailers in both Cambridge and Florida until health issues recently interfered. We would like to thank all who were there for Glenn when health declined. He will be missed by all of us.
“Gone from our sight but never far from our hearts.”
There will be a celebration of life for Glenn at the Hespeler Legion Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1-5pm. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
