WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Retired Women Teachers of Ontario- Organisation des enseignantes retraitées de l’Ontario (RWTO-OERO) has decided to extend membership to other retired women educational professionals.
In addition to retired women teachers, the organization now accepts retired educational assistants, early childhood educators and child and youth workers.
Provincial president Sandra Salerno states: “We are very pleased with this membership extension of our organization which makes us inclusive and welcoming to other women educators while maintaining the historical significance of RWTO-OERO.”
The organization’s 46 branches care for the interests and well-being of retired women educational professionals who come together for social interaction, stimulating programs, emotional support and most of all, friendship.
Locally, Guelph-Wellington Retired Women Teachers (GWRWT) meet four times a year for general meetings, lunch and entertainment.
The next get-together is on Sept. 26 at Victoria Park East Golf Club.
Interest groups
Members can join various interest groups, like book clubs, hiking, bridge, movies, games and so on, and they meet monthly.
