HARRISTON – Harriston Rising is inviting area residents and visitors to “party on and pig out” at the Harriston Street Party Buffet on the Boulevard, catered by the Smokin’ Pig.
Tickets are only sold in advance and must be pre-ordered by Aug. 4 at noon.
On Aug. 12 from 6 to 8pm, a pulled-pork platter dinner will be served as a unique dining experience on the street in downtown Harriston.
“Buffet on the Boulevard is a continuation of the Harriston Street Party dinner hosted in the street for the past several years,” explains Minto marketing and community development coordinator Erin Raftis.
“This year, the tables will be lined up down the street, set and decorated to offer a dining experience like none other.”
On the menu is smoked pulled pork, coleslaw, macaroni salad, baked beans, cornbread, and dessert.
Raftis notes, “We know the meal is big, so if you think your little one might not eat it all, we recommend purchasing one meal to split between two kids.”
Tickets are $30 and include admission to the Harriston Street Dance, which begins at 8pm for those age of majority.
Tickets can be purchased online by visiting harristonrising.ca or in-person at the Town of Minto office, Harriston Home Hardware, Leslie Motors, and Harriston Legion by cash only.
The rain location for the dinner and dance is the Harriston Community Centre Complex.
In addition to the dinner, the day will be filled with activities from 7:30am to midnight, including the Leslie Motors Car Show, Minto Makers’ Market, and tons of kid-friendly activities like face painting and inflatable obstacle course.
