ERIN — LongRun is hosting an open house on its 100 acre farm near Hillsburgh on July 22 from 10 to 2pm.
The public is welcome to attend the open house, and a donation of $20 per person is suggested, with proceeds being directed to pay for feed, bedding, farrier work and veterinarian bills.
LongRun is a registered charity mandated to provide Ontario’s thoroughbred racehorses with a dignified retirement from racing.
The charity cares for over 50 retired racehorses, one of which is the 2017 Canadian Horse of the Year, Pink Lloyd. The charity is also supported by the racing industry.
The event will also include farm tours, demonstrations and photos with the farm’s “stable stars” which are supported by their racetrack connections.
