MINTO – The Minto Arts Council’s 2023 Juried Art Show is an annual event in the Town of Minto.
“Represented are an incredibly diverse mix of mediums, styles and subjects with featured artists from across Ontario. Always a thrill, this year promises to be no different,” arts council officials state.
The public is invited to attend the Minto Arts Gallery in Harriston on May 4 for an awards reception from 6:30 to 8pm. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to participate in choosing the winner of the Viewer’s Choice Award.
The winners will be announced at 7pm.
The show runs from May 2 to 26, “but your input on May 4 is important,” officials state.
Sponsored by Minto Arts Council, prizes are:
– 1st Place – $200;
– 2nd Place – $150;
– 3rd Place – $100; and
– Viewer’s Choice – $50
Privately sponsored awards include:
– Von Westerholt Prize for best Watercolor – $200; and
– West Meadow Press and printmaking prize – $100 for an entry of 10 or more in etching, engraving, mezzo-tint, relief print, woodcut, wood engraving, or silkscreen.
Digital or analog photography prints accepted.
The Minto Arts Gallery is located at 88 Mill Street, upstairs in the Harriston Public Library.
