Guelph Humane Society Walk-a-thon wags its way back after long hiatus

GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is pleased to announce the launch of the Happy Trails Walk-a-thon, taking place on June 4.

This event is the first walk-a-thon held by GHS in many years, and the first of its kind at its new facility at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd. in Guelph.

$25,000 goal

The Happy Trails Walk-a-thon aims to raise $25,000 to support vulnerable animals in Guelph and Wellington County.

Registration is open online, and participants are encouraged to sign up as individuals or teams.

This is a peer-to-peer fundraising event, which means participants are encouraged to raise funds through their personal networks to support the cause.

“Our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for all animals in our community,” says GHS executive director Lisa Veit.

Essential care

“The Happy Trails Walk-a-thon will help us continue to provide essential care and support for more than 3,000 sick, orphaned, lost or abandoned animals that arrive at our door each year.”

Veit also emphasized the importance of community support for the event.

“We are thrilled to welcome the community for our Happy Trails Walk-a-thon at our new facility,” she said.

“We cannot achieve our goals without the support of our community, and we are grateful for every donation and every participant who helps us make a difference in the lives of animals,” she added.

Corporate opportunities, such as sponsorship and teams, are also available.

This is an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their commitment to animal welfare and promote their brand to a wide audience.

The Happy Trails Walk-a-thon promises to be a fun and meaningful event for all participants.

Scenic route

The walk will follow a scenic route along the trails surrounding GHS, and participants can enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment throughout the day.

The event is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about GHS and its important work in the community.
