Peacefully at the Louise Marshall Hospital on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the age of 80. Loving husband of Dawn Tanfield. Cherished father of Shelby Tanfield (Brent P.). Dear brother-in-law of Kerry (Christine) Ross. Remembered by his friends: Scotty, Rob (Becky), Jorge and Ricky. Steve was a fascinating, innovative, and dedicated man. A true car aficionado, with a passion for cars and bikes. His commitment to his craft was admirable. He was always working on a project, trying and learning new techniques, or installing a new part. He was always up for a challenge. Whenever he entered a car show with one of his builds, he would hands-down win. Steve enthusiastically attended swap meets and car shows knowing that he would discover cool and rare car paraphernalia. When he wasn’t working on cars, he was usually going on fun-filled road trips with his buddies to pick up cars or car parts. Steve’s passion for cars was only rivaled by his love for his family. You could also find him chopping down a tree or getting firewood ready for the next winter. Steve was the life of the party and was always laughing. A come-and-go celebration of Steve’s life will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, on Sunday, April 16th from 1:00-4:00pm with words of remembrance at 2:00pm. In keeping with Steve’s style, casual attire (t-shirts and jeans) is welcome. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Steve are asked to consider a charity of one’s choice.
