WELLINGTON COUNTY – A local 14-year-old boy faces 17 sex assault and child pornography charges involving multiple victims over a 10-month period last year.
On March 31, Wellington County OPP officials announced that police began a sexual assault investigation earlier in the month.
“Investigation determined that between February 2022 and December 2022, three youths were sexually assaulted by another youth in separate incidents in the County of Wellington,” states the OPP press release.
“In one instance, intimate photographs of another youth were taken and shared without consent.”
Police did not provide a more specific location in order to protect the identity of the victims.
“The accused was known to the victims,” police stated.
A 14-year-old boy from Wellington County was charged with:
- non-consensual distribution of an intimate image;
- making child pornography available;
- five counts of sexual assault;
- five counts of sexual interference; and
- five counts of invitation to sexual touching.
He is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
“Victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence are not alone,” police stated.
