WELLINGTON COUNTY – A 59-year-old county man has been charged with sexual assault, though few details were provided by police about the incident(s).
“This case is considered isolated as the perpetrator was known to the victim,” states a short March 1 press release from the Wellington County OPP.
Police originally identified the man as a resident of a northern Wellington municipality, but later asked the media to refer to him as being from “Wellington County.”
OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham said the request came from “investigators” assisting the victim.
The man is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
