CAMBRIDGE – Drayton Entertainment announced its Youth Chorus Program audition date for the 2023 season. The award-winning not-for-profit theatre company is looking for young performers for productions in Drayton and St. Jacobs this summer.
The Youth Chorus Program provides young performers the opportunity to sing in group ensemble numbers alongside professional leads. Auditions will take place on March 5 at the Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy located at 145 Northfield Drive in Waterloo.
Auditions will be used to determine participants for various opportunities, including the Youth Chorus in Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story at the Drayton Festival Theatre and the Children’s Chorus of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse.
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story
Teenagers 13 to 15 who are strong movers (preferably with dance training), and comfortable singing in a group are invited to audition to play teens in the youth chorus of Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.
Performances are at the Drayton Festival Theatre from May 24 to June 10, with rehearsals starting May 4. The auditions will take place on March 5 from 11am to 1pm with sign-in and warm up starting at 10:30am.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Youth between the ages of 8 to 15 with strong singing skills and comfortable with simple movements are invited to audition for the children’s chorus in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Performances are at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse from July 12 to Aug. 5, with rehearsals starting June 22. Auditions take place on March 5 from 2 to 4:30pm with sign-in and warm up starting at 1:30pm
