MINTO – During the month of December the Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society hosted the organization’s first Christmas Charity Tour of Lights.
Non-profit organizations from Minto communities in Palmerston, Drew, Harriston and Clifford set up light displays and community participants donated to and voted for their favourite displays.
“The event was a great success and helped get the community into the Christmas spirit while supporting some of the great local organizations that we are lucky to have,” organizers state.
The winner of the contest was the Drew Community Board, which received $1,755 in donations and also had the most of votes for their well thought out display of lights.
“We are very thankful for the enthusiasm from all of the participating organizations and it was great to bring light to the community and those organizations during the holiday season.,” organizers state.
Participating organizations were: Harriston-Minto Ag Society, Building Bridges Day Program, Drew Community Board, Harriston Kinsmen/Palmerston Kinettes, The Owl’s Nest Holistic Alternative School, Palmerston Legion, Palmerston Lions Club, Clifford Rotary Park, all three Minto Fire stations and the Harriston Legion.
