Predeceased and now reunited with her beloved husband Bill Aitchison (2011) and parents Peggy and John Graham. Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her dearest friends on Sunday, December 25, 2022 in her 95th year in Elora. Cherished by all who knew her. Mary will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by sister-in-law Gwen Lovell, nieces Lynn (Mike) Lovell, Sandy Lovell and nephew Jeff (Sylvie) Lovell. Mary was always proud to share her affection for her great nephews Conrad and Ben Lovell. Not to be forgotten, her trusted companion Pebbles will miss Mary’s constant spoiling. Mary was a long time resident of Elora and a graceful steward of her cherished retreat at Belwood Lake. Mary’s loving extended family of Chris Taylor and Erik and Kim Kabbes enabled her to live, flourish and enjoy unlimited independence and happiness until her final day. She loved where she came from and the life these precious friends afforded her to live. Mary enjoyed her career as a secretary with the Wellington County Public School Board where she served faithfully until retirement. An avid curler, Mary spent many years gliding down the ice of her beloved Fergus Curling Club. She was still sweeping until “just only” a few years ago. Always ready to help wherever needed as a devoted club member. Mary supported, organized and served her fellow members with dedication and attention to the needs of all. Mary’s incredible organizational skills proved to be a blessing to all who graced Knox Presbyterian Church of Elora. It was here as a focal point in her life where she served as a board member, treasurer, service club volunteer and steady leader in service for over 70 years. When you love someone, even 95 years isn’t quite enough. Whether it was time spent with her at the cottage or listening to her beloved Blue Jays on the radio. Many quality conversations and wisdom ensured. In a life that was well-lived, you will be missed but never forgotten. The extended family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church St. East, Elora on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. The family will have a private celebration of life at the lake later this Spring! As expressions of sympathy, donations to Knox Presbyterian Church of Elora are appreciated.
