GUELPH – The People and Information Network (PIN) has appointed Peter Hohenadel as interim executive director as Kim Cusimano is leaving the organization.
“Since her appointment in 2020, Kim Cusimano has provided outstanding leadership to PIN and its members as well as support to the board and staff during a time of considerable disruption due to the pandemic,” states board chair Janet Kaufman in a Dec. 1 press release.
Cusimano has worked with PIN since 2016 and supported PIN’s pillars of work in volunteerism and nonprofit leadership through expertise in volunteer engagement, facilitation and training, communications and events.
During Cusimano’s leadership as executive director, PIN celebrated its 20th anniversary, led annual Community Benefit Sector Surveys and reports, developed the PIN Learning Space – an online training portal, advocated and delegated on behalf of volunteerism and police records checks.
“As I reflect over my time with PIN, I am grateful to have met awe-inspiring volunteers, collaborative leaders, advocates, visionaries, passionate and compassionate individuals who make a difference every day in support of community,” shared Cusimano.
“As I return to my roots in support of life and living for older adults, I am pleased to have the opportunity to action work in the development and implementation of an Age-Friendly Community Plan in the City of Cambridge.”
Inspired by the United Nations International Year of the Volunteer in 2001, the Volunteer Centre of Guelph and Wellington was born to engage volunteers and support nonprofits and charities to better utilize this powerful volunteer resource that fuels community.
In 2017, the organization rebranded to the People and Information Network.
“Twenty years later, the need remains for the leadership, activation and advocacy of volunteerism that PIN provides,” Cusimano said.
Hohenadel has extensive leadership experience, a long history of volunteering and will be an asset to PIN, Cusimano said.
