GUELPH – Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO), a commodity organization, representing barley, corn, oat, soybean and wheat farmers, has awarded 10 students in Ontario with GFO Legacy Fund Scholarships.
The scholarship encourages the pursuit of higher education in any area of study that will benefit agriculture. In this inaugural year, GFO set out to award up to 10 scholarships of $5,000 to support individuals’ studies.
“Grain Farmers of Ontario is committed to supporting our agricultural community members to allow them to prosper, and that includes students who hope to take an active role in the future of the agriculture or agri-food industries in Ontario,” said GFO chair Brendan Byrne.
