ERIN – The Town of Erin is gearing up to offer its first-ever winter festival, billed by officials as “themed festive fun” with “something for everyone to enjoy.”
Erin Winter Fest will take place in downtown Erin village from 6 to 9pm over three evenings in November and December.
Nov. 18
The festival kicks off on Nov. 18 at 6pm with the annual tree lighting ceremony and Window Wonderland attraction.
“Similar to last year, residents and visitors are encouraged to bring their own ornaments to help decorate one of the trees in the park,” states a town press release.
“Make your mark and be a part of something special (DIY ornaments especially welcome).”
The tree lighting will be followed by Window Wonderland, which officials call a “popular attraction that showcases a stunning display of holiday lights dressing the windows of the downtown shops.”
On the first night of the festival Main Street will be closed starting at 3pm.
Dec. 2
The second night of the festival, themed Family Favourites, is Dec. 2.
“Expect to be delighted with beautiful lighting displays that make the perfect photo backdrops for all of those selfies and family portraits to be taken,” town officials state.
The Family Favourites night will include ponies, “cozy corners,” food vendors and chocolate.
“Keep an eye out for the big man in red himself – you never know who might attend,” officials stated.
Dec. 16
Town officials say the third night of Erin Winter Fest, called Après Village, “promises to be the perfect date-night out” on Dec. 16.
“After a long day on the imaginary slopes, come down to the core of Erin and huddle up by the warming stations where you can lounge in comfort,” states the town release.
“Immerse yourself in your own Hallmark holiday movie with a stroll through a Winter Fest wonderland and enjoy the company of your friends, family, or partners.”
