WELLINGTON NORTH – Holding provisions have been removed from most lots in an ongoing residential development in northeast Arthur.
Vaughan-based Cachet Developments Inc. is developing just under 28 acres of land bordered by Domville Street to the north and Preston Street to the east.
Holding provisions were in place until the municipality could ensure sewage and water servicing could be provided for the development, and other agreements could be reached.
In April council bypassed the township’s policy on sewage unit allocations – restricting the maximum number of units to 15 per cent of the Arthur Wastewater Treatment Plant’s uncommitted reserve capacity – and awarded all 197 requested units between 2022-23 to get the development moving.
A subdivision agreement was signed between Cachet and the township this summer.
Now that holding provisions are lifted on the property (with the exception of two lots waiting for street access and servicing) a site meeting will be held to confirm servicing has in fact been completed with a report going to council.
Following the report, chief building official Darren Jones said he expects building permits will be issued within the month.
