Town, video production company recognized for ‘Move to Minto’ promotional video

MINTO – Memory Tree Productions and the Town of Minto have received the Award of Excellence for Film/Video – Government Relations at the 2022 Communicator Awards.

The award was presented for the town and company’s collaborative production on the Move to Minto video that was created in the summer of 2021 and launched in May of 2022.

The Communicator Awards, which are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, honour excellence in strategic, effective and meaningful communication across digital, video, podcasts, marketing, mobile, print and more, Minto officials state.

The awards draw almost 5,000 entries from companies, agencies, studios, and boutique shops of all sizes, making it, globally, one of the largest award shows of its kind.

The Award of Excellence, is the highest honour and is given to entrants “whose ability to communicate positions them as the best in the field,” Minto officials state.

“We are so proud of our made-in-Minto production and couldn’t be more excited about this amazing accomplishment.”

Minto residents Justin and Karah McIntosh, from Memory Tree Productions, produced the video and town brand consultant Heather Watterworth of Creative Worth Branding and Design, along with local businesses and numerous residents and business owners, helped the video “capture the true essence of Minto brilliantly,” officials state.

Wick-Graham told council on Aug. 9 she is “super proud” of everyone involved in the accomplishment, noting that since it was launched in May, the two-minute video has attracted nearly 3,100 views and a condensed 15 second clip used in a Google campaign has been viewed more than 43,000 times.

“It’s great that we had a local firm that did it,” observed Mayor George Bride, noting the town’s economic development department has gotten “a lot of mileage with it.”

“This council and council before this council really had the vision to look at economic development understand that that’s the driving force and updating our video is very important to do.”

Bridge added, “I’d also like to thank all the people that were involved in it because, it’s all local people.

“I get a tear in my eye when I see it. I want to move out of Minto and move back,” the mayor quipped.
