WELLINGTON COUNTY – Taste Real, Wellington County’s local food initiative, has launched a guide to food experiences.
The new Food Experience Guide: Farm and Food Adventures in Wellington County and Guelph features local food must-dos, including farmers’ markets, farm-to-table eateries, farm events, taste tours, craft breweries, and more.
The guide is a condensed companion piece to the county’s Local Food Map – a comprehensive handbook to local food destinations.
Together, these pieces offer tasty ways to learn about local agriculture, while helping residents and visitors explore the area’s many rural food destinations and businesses.
“Wellington County offers so many opportunities to access and experience local food,” says George Bridge, chair of Wellington County’s economic development committee.
“The Taste Real initiative has been working with local partners and supporters to showcase these experiences since 2011.
“From fine dining and wine tasting to alpaca yoga and sunflower fields, Wellington County is quickly growing one of the most vibrant local food destinations in Ontario.”
The Food Experience Guide can be picked up at all Wellington County Library Branches, the Wellington County Museum and Archives, local farmers’ markets, Guelph’s Market Fresh, and participating businesses across the County and in Guelph.
It’s also available online at www.wellington.ca/food-experience-guide.
