Medieval Faire fun in Fergus

Wizards, Vikings, knights, oh my! – The Fergus Medieval Faire was held on July 23 in the town’s downtown core. Archery, axe throwing, a falconry show, Medieval scribes and more were part of the day-long event, which drew in hundreds. Cassandra Bailey was dressed from head to toe in princess garb for the occasion. 
The Fergus Medieval Faire featured a mix of performers roaming throughout the event.
A heroic knight braved the heat of the Saturday event, geared up in his armour.
Live forge and iron works were a part of the entertainment of the day long event.
Costumes were available to those who wanted to explore the fashion of the Medieval era. Centre Wellington locals Luke and Claire Blouin explored their inner knight and princess.

The court jester, also known as Peter Skoggard, bowed while handing out guides, pausing to make use of his trumpet.
A transfiguration class, “strings into things,” took place during the Wizard workshops.
The King and Queen were on hand to assist their subjects.
Mary-Florence Bartley made the trip all the way from Barrie to play her drum.
Animals were in abundance at the Faire, including rats.
An Owl was part of a falconer show that took place here in the Provost Lane parking lot.
The Medieval event featured a mix of hands-on activities and live demonstrations, all in the spirit of the middle ages. Hands-on activities included jousting and sword fighting.
