WELLINGTON NORTH – The township has hired a new chief administrative officer (CAO).
Brooke Lambert will be joining the municipal staff as CAO effective Sept. 6.
“Several excellent candidates were considered during the interview process, and we are happy to welcome Brooke to this important role and look forward to continuing our tradition of collaborative, community-focused service under her administrative leadership,” states a press release issued by the township.
“We are delighted to announce that Brooke will be joining our team in early September,” stated Mayor Andy Lennox
The release states Lambert has over 18 years of municipal experience at both the local and regional level. She has worked for the Region of Waterloo and the cities of Kitchener and Cambridge.
“Brooke has demonstrated a solid foundation in community planning and building, economic development, government relations, stakeholder engagement and public administration,” township officials state.

“In her most recent role at the City of Cambridge, Brooke was the director of corporate strategy and provided leadership on key strategic initiatives as well the development of a comprehensive corporate performance management framework that brought together strategy, business planning, reporting and measurement of key deliverables.”
Lambert is a registered professional planner (RPP) and also has both a Masters of Applied Environmental Studies (local economic development) and Bachelor of Arts (economics) from the University of Waterloo.
The release states Lambert is planning to relocate to Wellington North with her family from Waterloo Region.

“As CAO, I look forward to helping Wellington North achieve its vision for the future, with all of the exciting opportunities that can bring.
“I also want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and support my family has already experienced. We are truly grateful.
Lambert will replace former CAO Mike Givens, who announced in March he would be leaving Wellington North to become CAO the Township of Perth East.
After announcing the move, Givens stayed on with the township until May 31.
