Dear Editor:
RE: No more Turtle talk at Hillsburgh library branch: CAO, June 30.
Congrats to Rare for their part (placing protectors) in helping to protect midland painted and snapping turtle nests. Allowing nature to take its course – “Rebecca and her staff should be doing nothing” – is a true example of hands off.
All of Ontario’s eight turtle species are now at risk of disappearing. Check the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada for further reading.
We need to help nature, not destroy it.
Please don’t let “chocolate turtles,” as Warden Kelly Linton stated, be the only ones left.
Lucy Dyment,
Fergus
