Grace Zoer (Geertje Harkelina Bos) passed away on Wednesday, June 29 at the age of 90. Grace was born on September 19, 1931 in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1954 with her husband Hank to start a new life in Canada.Beloved wife of the late Hank Zoer (2019); mother of Trudy & Harry Spaling of Edmonton, Jane & Jerry Chilla of Ava, Missouri, Frank & Stephanie Zoer of Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Barb & Roger Ganley of Leduc, Alberta, Marlene & John Ottens of Moorefield, Ontario, and Jeff & Kim Zoer of Palmerston, Ontario. Missed by 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Grace was a hard worker, who helped on the farm as much as possible while raising six children. She loved to garden, and had a large vegetable garden as well as many beautiful flowerbeds. They moved from the farm to their Spanish house on the Elora Road, and then moved to Hillview Drive in Drayton. They were in each place for about 20 years. Grace and Hank loved to go to garage sales and auction sales, and even though Hank was known as the “wheeler-dealer”, Grace was instrumental in choosing items, cleaning them, and preparing them for resale. They spent their final years at Conestoga Crest, where they enjoyed the ease of a small apartment and the enjoyment of socializing with the other residents. They loved to play euchre and Wizard, and were always up for a game of cards. Grace’s faith was an important part of her life, and she and Hank were lifelong members of the Drayton Christian Reformed Church.Visitation was held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Drayton CRC, and the funeral was held on Monday, July 4 at 11am. Private family interment at Drayton Cemetery.
