Institute visit – Members of Silverwood Women’s Institute (WI) came from Milton and Georgetown to visit their host, Carry-On WI in Palmerston, on May 18. All enjoyed a walking tour of downtown to view the painted barn quilts, the new metal benches and the ”Tiny Trains.” This was followed by a lunch at the Palmerston Lions Clubhouse, a train ride through the Palmerston Lions Heritage Park to see “Old 81” and a short visit to the train museum. At the end of the day the ladies met with Bonnie Dopfer, Barn Quilt creator, to view the new, just-pained barn quilts that will be posted in the park at a later date.
