Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in her 91st year at Grace Manor at Holland Christian Homes, Brampton. Beloved wife of Harm Booi (d2014) for 61 years. Loving mother of Tina Vanderveen (Marty), Betty, Gerald (Joanne), Maria Berdusco (David), Hetti Stobie (Stephen) and Rick (Lauren). Dear loving grandmother of Melissa Tamming (Kevin), Jessica Vanderveen-Willetts (Ryan), Doug Booi (Kim), Cliff Booi, Sheena Scheurwater (d2018) (Jeremy and Joanna Scheurwater), Elaine Booi, Andrea Berdusco, David Stobie, Andrew Stobie, Ben Booi and Breanna Booi. Dear great-grandmother (Oma) of Eli and Levi Tamming, Brody Willetts, Brooklyn and Corbin Scheurwater, Jackson and Theo Booi. Dear sister of Jenny Bakker-Vandersteeg of the Netherlands. Predeceased by her siblings Marie Bakker-Kroes, Kees Bakker, Nel Bakker-deBoer, Harm Bakker and Henk Bakker. Clara was born in Genemuiden, the Netherlands on April 10, 1932 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. She will be remembered as a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a steadfast friend. Clara cherished her family, her church and her farm, and she was a proud lifetime member of the Marsville Women’s Institute. She was deeply loved and heaven has gained an angel. Private Family Funeral was held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Thursday June 2, 2022 at 11:00am. (Webcast of funeral is available to view). Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to provide bibles may be made to Gideons International in Canada.
