In his 100th year passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at his residence in Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest. Predeceased by his parents Joseph Patrick Horrigan (1894-1976) and Mary (Winnifred) Lynett (1895-1980), and by his loving wife Theresa A. Bolen (1921-2009). Also predeceased by his eldest son Gary Joseph (1954-2008), his third eldest son David John (1958-2019) and grandson Brenden Kenneth Raymond Horrigan (1992). Ray was the last of his generation in both his and his wife’s families. Predeceased by his brothers Frank (Patricia Stolte), Vince (Teresa Fitzmaurice), Jim (Patricia Flanigan), sisters Margaret McKenzie (Norbert), Helen Gunning (Raymond), brothers-in-law Joseph Bolen (Genevieve Tangney), John Bolen (Mary Quinlan), Vince Bolen (Eileen Mulhall), sisters-in-law Vera Bolen (Maurice Vasey), Kathleen Bolen (William O’Hagan), Florence Bolen (Ralph Hosick) and Helen (Mildred) Bolen (Harold Page). Ray will be dearly missed by his sons Carl and Patrick, daughters-in-law Ruth-Anne (McDougall), Pauline (Moore) and Diane (Richardson), his grand-daughters Crystal (Steve Rapati), Michelle (William Foster), Julie (Ken Murchison), Catherine and Jennifer, his grand-boys Bryan (Melanie Di Matteo), Joseph (Sherry Dumas), Nicholas (Brittany Hill), Keith and Michael. Ray had seven great-grandchildren, who he loved; Alexander Horrigan, Emily Horrigan, Jayden Horrigan, Skylar Rapati, Olivia Murchison, Luke Murchison and Rosalie Horrigan. Ray was looking forward to three more great grandchildren in the upcoming year. Visitation was held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm with parish prayers at 7:45pm. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church, 310 Parkside Drive, Mount Forest, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00am, with visitation at the church from 10:00am – 10:45am.
